Course objective<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The double degree Sciences Po Lille \/ Ecole Sup\u00e9rieure de Journalisme de Lille (ESJ)<\/strong> trains future news professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students selected each year by competitive examination receive two years of \u00ab\u00a0polymedia<\/strong>\u00a0\u00bb training (radio, TV, print media, agency, web), taught by professionals in an environment suited to learning today’s main journalistic techniques<\/strong> (TV and radio studios, information systems).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the first year, students also take courses in media history, press law, media economics and the sociology of journalism. In the second year, students benefit from thematic modules designed to refine their understanding of current affairs: politics, economics, justice, as well as a choice of three electives: environment, health, sport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Third-year<\/strong> (FG\/FB) and fourth-year<\/strong> (FG\/FB\/FA\/FE) students at Sciences Po Lille sit the entrance exam, under certain conditions, by following a reserved access route. This fifth-year entry procedure remains highly selective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The agreement between the two schools means that students are awarded a double diploma: one from ESJ Lille<\/strong> (recognized by the profession) and one from Sciences Po Lille<\/strong> (equivalent to a Master’s degree).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Editorial by the head of the double-degree<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Since 2010, Sciences Po Lille and the Ecole Sup\u00e9rieure de Journalisme de Lille have joined forces to offer a double master’s degree in \u00ab\u00a0Journalism\u00a0\u00bb, providing future media professionals with a wide range of skills and knowledge. At a time when the media world is undergoing profound transformation, and journalists are redefining their place in this changing ecosystem, we believe it is vital to combine the necessary technical know-how with a deeper understanding of current affairs (politics, justice, economics, the environment, international relations, etc.), and the acquisition of the foundations of professional reflexivity. The partnership between the two schools also gives Sciences Po Lille students direct access to the oral exams of the competitive entrance examination, by means of an online tele-preparation course. Other research and teaching projects mark an alliance made all the more natural by the fact that barely two hundred meters separate the two establishments!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
